Day 7-Family Memories

This will be a new tradition that is started this year. I got the idea in a Relief Society meeting a couple months ago from my friend Karen Brown.

I think it's really fitting because there isn't anything that I really need for Christmas. And I know that budgets are strapped as the years go on, and people's memories are fading also. So this Christmas I asked my parents that for Christmas, I'd like them to give me a written memory. I told them that they could start chronological, or start with their favorite memories about their childhood or mine. It doesn't matter to me, I just want them to share their memories with me. Then each year I'll add the memory to a binder and keep them to share with my kids.

I know there are plenty of memories out there, so I'm excited to get this. My mom grew up in Mexico on a farm with an outhouse so I know the boys will think that's interesting. I remember her talking about a doll that ended up down there, but I don't remember how-so there's a story. And my dad is full of stories that teach principles and repentence! I know my kids will benefit from those when they are teens! Both of my parents do not keep journals (mom did at once but I don't think she has in years) so this is a good way for them to do it.

I'm so excited to get our first page mom-I can't wait!! I hope you still remember this and are planning to do it!
