Fall is in the air

I can't believe that it's already Halloween time again. Seems like yesterday that I was making our dragon for the Trunk-or-Treat at church. I'm usually not really into decorating for Halloween, but Jarrett saw the neighbors doing it and so he called me (as I was out shopping) and asked if we could decorate too. Here's what he picked out:

We did a little more decorating inside:

Note: The bags on the tree USED to have candy in them. Anyone that came over got to pick a bag and get the treat inside. However, Jarrett found the candy in them and he's got a sweet tooth just like mom so the candy was gone in no time.

I LOVE our ghosts that greet our guests. Though each time I see them they remind me of Shari. So a story about the ghosts. If you remember last year, we decorated our trunk for the church party and it was a two car dragon. Totally blew everyone away. So Bishop gets up and says on Sunday that he's expecting "big things" for the trunk or treat and looks Gordon's way. Gordon told him that we retired as of last year, in first place. I decided this year to go "simple". I wasn't even going to decorate the trunk as we were doing two chilis and the boys' pumpkins and making cinnamon rolls so I thought that was plenty. However Gordon suggested that we just take our ghosts, and the inflatable one from outside. I was ok with that. So that's what we did-and we won. The Bishop came up and jokingly told Gordon, "I can't believe you can win without even trying". It was funny....

So my idea for decorating inside was to go more with the "Fall" theme so I could have it up longer. I do have some Halloween decorations that I will switch out with our T-day ones, but for the most part, it's fall decor. Last year I hit all the clearance sells (75-90% off) to stock up on florals and I probably got too much, but that's ok. Just means I can mix it up a little each year.
